Epidendrum Obrienianum
This wonderful orchid produces plantlets, a.k.a. "keikis" (Hawaiian term), so abundantly that it has been given a nickname: the 'Friendship Orchid'! Many people find it fun to give away the vigorous little keikis to their friends! This red one is the most popular of the genus for its tall, full cluster of vibrant blooms. This plant is also interesting because it is classified as a naturally occurring hybrid between Epidendrum jamiesonis and Epidendrum radicans. True to its genus this plant tends to always have some flowers on display, but its peak bloom is usually August through September. .Temperature Tolerant. August - September blooming.
